Cash game in local casino , 50p/£1 i'm in small blind ( £168 ) Seat3 straddles £1 (£150+) Seat4 calls £1 (£80) Seat5 calls £1 (£250+) Seat 8 raises to £8 (£400+) I call with AT (offsuit red) Seats 2,3,4,5, calls too. £48 in pot. Flop KQJ , 2 spades I bet out my flopped st8 for £12 , for the reasons: Smallish bet to inflate the pot Its highly a few players have hit a lot of the flop and I need to find out who. My small bet is to induce a re raise Big blind folds Seat 3 folds Seat 4 re raises to £50 this is what I want and in my head I am calling.He has around £20 left which I know is going in whatever happens . Seat 5 folds Seat 8 shoves all in for £400+ Back to me , I now have to re evaluate . I have played with him many times in tournaments and he always makes this move with open ended straight draws or flush draws. I decide one or both of them are on these draws or the possibility they have 2 pair or a set. Even though I have them beat at this moment in time , I can even beat KKK , I fold seeing I have put in £20 and could lose £150 if their draws come in. Seat 4 calls his remaining £20. Turn 6 hearts River 3 spades. Seat 8 announces flush Seat 4 mucks , he later says he had King Jack for 2 pair. I made the right fold in this instance , but did I make the right fold strategically ? I was ashamed to tell anyone I folded the nut st8.

Re: Flopped broadway staright Cash game I think thats an awful fold myself, make him pay to hit his draw, dont pack up and go home because its a bit expensiive. maybe try a smaller game? I would call that in a cash game every single time
