Wolverhampton 9:00 The Paul Green trained Lucky Dan looks a massive price at 25/1 according to my own tissue. This is a four time course winner and when you look at Joe Fanning's record for the trainer here at the track, he is 3/13. This horse is now back down to his last winning mark which was 72 and Fanning always goes well on this horse, his record on him reads 3-5-3-6-1. Lucky Dan has won over this trip here at Wolverhampton before back in 2012 so if he is fit enough he can go well. He probably needed the run last time out after a break and he is too big not to back. Miami Gator won last time out having made all, unlikely to get such a soft lead with Una Bella Cosa and Echologic in the lineup so should find this tougher off a 3lb higher mark, he remains dangerously well handicapped but has looked shadow of former self. Monsieur Pontaven is a capable but doesn’t strike very often and is often best to take him on. Prohibition won in good style on penultimate start and was still in same form last time out when 2^nd off revised mark looking badly in need of a step up in trip gets that today and looks the one to pick up a poor race.
