Hints of strong stack building brilliance at times, a glimmer of hope for possible future return. Easier done when you've got a solid player who will often play similar types of hands in the same way and give away lots of betting/bet sizing/timing etc tells. You can't always pick up on what a complete novice or gambler is doing because most of the time they haven't a clue what they're doing themselves. Making difficult calls/folds when someone is playing ATC is virtually impossible without a lot of luck. Obviously if you've always got the nuts you want to always be up against a calling station novice, but tournaments don't happen like that.
