The main trends for the Arkle are, a rating of 142+ over hurdles a rating of 150+ over fences. DB easily passes both. Already possesses decent Cheltenham and festival form, and is 3/3 over fences. Don't know if Nicholls will give him a prep, but if not, it's not a problem. Hes been kept away from racing on bad ground since Xmas, unlike a few of the main contenders. His record of racing after an extended break reads 2101. The 2nd when beaten on hurdling debut in a grade 2 behind the grade 1 winner, Grumeti. The 0 in last seasons Supreme, which already looks like it was a high class renewal. His main worry is field size. He is 0/8 in double figure fields, but, I expect this to cut up to single figures on the day, and a 7/2, 4/1 shot.
