5.10 Wolverhampton Not a great race and its easy to concentrate on the top of the market. Witch Way Went and Hold The Star would both be huge shock winners were they to prove good enough to win this. Persian Patriot was showing some promise in polytrack handicaps over this trip before getting off the mark in a desperate 4 runner maiden at Southwell. Could go on from that but gonna be tougher back in handicap and also creeped up 3lb since last handicap run. Remix yet to win on polytrack although does have some placed efforts, just about looks high enough in the weights at present. Doldrums has done as his name suggests since winning on debut around here and although this is weaker still, he must prove he still wants to win now. Painted Tail is useful on his day and does act on the surface, recently had a run over hurdles so should strip fitter but handicapper taking no chances at the moment and. Hard to look past The Blue Dog, often worth following a mare/filly in form on the AW they can often rack up runs easier than the boys. She would require a career best off this new mark but this is weak and she perhaps wouldn’t need to improve much again. He has had a nice break the this yard are more than capable of getting one ready. He runs off a mark of 74 tomorrow but was placed off marks of 77 last season so is well treated. Callum Whillans takes off another 5 pounds and on heavy ground that can be vital. He has only won once from 32 runs but that win came on heavy ground. His form on this ground reads 5-4-1-2-2-7-2-2 which bodes well in my opinion and he is well worth a bet at the price for me. Sam Patch WIN @ 20/1 Bet Victor
