Persian Patriot was showing some promise in polytrack handicaps over this trip before getting off the mark in a desperate 4 runner maiden at Southwell. Could go on from that but gonna be tougher back in handicap and also creeped up 3lb since last handicap run. Remix yet to win on polytrack although does have some placed efforts, just about looks high enough in the weights at present. Doldrums has done as his name suggests since winning on debut around here and although this is weaker still, he must prove he still wants to win now. Painted Tail is useful on his day and does act on the surface, recently had a run over hurdles so should strip fitter but handicapper taking no chances at the moment and. Hard to look past The Blue Dog, often worth following a mare/filly in form on the AW they can often rack up runs easier than the boys. She would require a career best off this new mark but this is weak and she perhaps wouldn’t need to improve much again. Run It Twice another worth avoiding from a wide draw, will appreciate this return to 7f and still shaped in form last time out but the draw makes him look poor value. Dance For Georgie finally put an end to consistent runs last time out in a apprentice handicap over CD, 5lb rise makes things a lot tougher. Dimitar hasn’t been since a promising run last time out over 90 days ago, switched yards since last seen aswell which is all slightly off putting in a competitive race. Menelik has ability but he is also extremely quirky the fitting of the visor in the past had a negative effect so strange to see him fitted with it again today. Small John is a course specialist with 7 wins from 30 runs but losing run is mounting up, now 2lb below last winning mark respectable run last time but will need to find a bit more just 3 days later. Tumbledown is making handicap debut, drops in trip which looks worth a try having faded out of it latest, also opening mark doesn’t look an easy one to overcome but given the unexposure he is one to watch. Funky Cold Medina will be the one carrying my money, yard only had 5 runners so far this year resulting in 2 winners. There was plenty to like about his first run for 90+ days last time out over todays trip at Kempton when finishing well. Re: Flat Racing Mon 27th Jan 4:40 Wolv I feel that current fav, Sir Charlie Kunz, has been given an initial handicap mark that's a little too high and that there are others more capable of winning this. After winning this last year, James Tate has another runner here in with a chance but Jazzy Lady possesses the current form and looks to be the most likely winner and is available at a much more tempting price, considering being second in the market. 13/2 betvictor - win
