I've been noticing a common trend over the last year or so. I have system betting mainly on AW races and I have noticed a massive decline in the percentage of favourites (within my system) winning - the average SR of all my selections which are favourites should be around 54% (SP odds around 1.85 - producing a profit with highest odds), but from August this year it is 37% (very similar odds). Anyone else noticed anything similar - is the proportion of favourites declining overall? Should be easy to check for anyone with access to the Proform database. Not implying anything, but could it be that the growth in the popularity of lay betting has meant that less favourites win...?

Re: Favourites underperfoming? The reason I'm posting this btw is that of my last 18 selections which were also favourites (ave odds 2.16) only 3 have won, a SR of 16.7% :eek . The three winners were all well under evens too!
