2013 review - How has it been for you?

As the year enters its final couple of weeks, I hope others can reflect on how it has gone for them, as we have in the past few years, and also how they think they might improve punting wise next year. I find that it can be a useful exercise. I began the year off well by starting to record the bulk of my bets, so I could see that I wasn't leaking money and have continued in one way or another manage to do so - not leak money that is! I've got a bit more leisure time now because of this and feel that I've spent much of the year with racing high on my agenda. My betting selections have certainly been less erratic but my staking hasn't particularly increased. However, I feel that I could probably still halve the number of selections I make - if that would make me more successful I don't know! I've had a great time actually going to watch racing this year, the highlights being lucky enough to win hospitality tickets at the Eclipse meeting at Sandown with PL and Coral and being at Towcester to witness AP reach the 4,000 mark. Spent part of the year working in a local stable and am looking at making it a regular thing in 2014, hopefully in the stud industry now that I've had some experience. Biggest priced win this year was 80/1 - last year it was 200/1.
