The inaugural Champion of Champions event begins on Tuesday with 16 players made up of tournament winners and high rankings heading to Coventry for the tournament which in effect replaces the Premier League. Slightly weird set up with the 16 men being drawn into four groups with each group having one day where there are semi finals and a final with the winner of each group final going through to the overall semi finals at the weekend. We know he can beat the very best just by looking at his record in The Masters and if he can get through the first round into the longer matches he is going to take some stopping. O’Sullivan, Ding and Robertson are all in the other half of the draw so the 9/1 about Selby makes plenty of appeal this week.
