BritPete
Coventry V Belle Vue + 7.5 (2) 1.85 B and W. Air Tek Trophy Coventry were the wooden spoonists last year, but, this year that is most unlikely to happen, and, a play-off place (top four) is possible. Scott Nicholls is a new signing from Ipswich, and together with Andreas Jonsson Coventry have a very decent spearhead. The middle order riders are, Morton Risager, Chris harris and another new signing Rory Schlein, Harris was disappointing last year, but, this year he will not be under the same pressure, Rory Schlein could be a danger tonight, but, the reserves seem nothing special. Belle Vue disappointed last night, and Jason Lyons and Simon Stead will have to ride considerably better here. Belle Vue are not going to match Coventry's top two, so, the middle order riders are of great importance, it seems that the track at Ipswich last night was very heavy, something that would not suit all of the Belle Vue team, so, I think with a +7.5 handicap, they are worth another chance. Belle Vue may well have an advantage with Andy Smith at reserve, Smith, although a veteran, has started the season in good form, and Coventry is a track he likes, also, hopefully, the Belle Vue riders have by now had a big kick where it hurts, and will show much better form tonight. BritPete
Re: Speedway Tonight Result: Coventry 43 Belle Vue. 47 :ok This is more like it from Belle Vue, Simon Stead showed his true form tonight, and along with Jason Crump, top scored, even old boy Lyons won a race! Andy Smith had a poor night after falling in his first race but, with Belle Vue's top 5 all scoring useful points, it just didn't matter!
