Flat Racing 11th Oct

6.40 Wolverhampton Fat Gar showed some useful form at 2yr old but hasn’t really progressed on that since in 3 starts to date this season, better effort last time out and dropped a further 3lb and drops in to class 5 for first time and would be no surprise to see him fare better again today. Excellent Jem won over CD last time out under this jockey who at the time was claiming 7lb but is only able to claim 5lb today and has to race off a 2lb higher mark so effectively 4lb higher will need to improve again but clearly improving on this surface and again no surprise to see him go well again. Climax For Tackle is largely consistent but showed next to nothing on reappearance last time out and looks high enough in the weights for now. Hannahs Turn would make more appeal on fibresand at Southwell and yet to show as effective on this surface in 2 previous tries over CD. Dark Lane raced rather lazily last time out and was soundly beaten and is another that looks higher enough in the weights. Little Choosey won a weak maiden last time out and had chances off similar marks in handicaps so question marks whether she can be competitive. Ray Of Joy might be worth taking a chance on dropped to class 5 for the first time on polytrack for several years, she has been competitive last twice in class 5 handicaps on turf and at Southwell latest and if continuing to build on that back here she is well handicapped being 6lb below last winning mark and 11lb below last polytrack win. Richard Hughes a strong booking. 2pt win Ray Of Joy 15/2 VC 7.40 Wolverhampton Interesting handicap made all the more interesting by some of the quirky characters racing. Admirable Duque is a 6 time course winner and rarely runs a bad race here but he was held off this mark recently and some time since he has been able to win off a mark this high. Scribe is another that looks high enough in the weights being 5lb above last winning mark. Toughness Danon has more attitude than most, having refused to race last time out and often slowly away out of stalls, he is clearly well handicapped but you are taking his attitude on trust returned back to the flat. Getaway Car bolted 11lengths clear around here over 1m4f and stamina didn’t look to be emptying so should handle this step up in trip, struggled to land a blow back on turf of revised mark in cheekpieces but might be worth another chance back on this surface and step up in trip having shaped badly in need of a step up last time out. Blinkers reapplied today. Alpine Mysteries won nicely last time out but a 6lb rise in a stronger race may be enough to stop her going in again. 2pt win Getaway Car 5/1 bet365

Re: Flat Racing 11th Oct Fancy the O'Meara stable to grab a winner or 2 @ York tomorrow. Bop It ran out of sorts last time but was previously looking like a top sprinter, Two For Two has a chance in the 3.05pm but the one I fancy most is Chancery. I'll be keeping an eye on the betting for all their other horses but will definitely have a go on these 3, probably an EW patent.
