He used to be trained by John Dunlop, for whom he picked up his only career win from a mark of 63. He never really built on that victory and switched to Ollie Pears at the start of this season. It's fair to say he couldn't get the best out of the horse in 3 runs, so Korngold was switched again to Tracy Waggott. Korngold has only had 2 runs for his new trainer but he already looks to have found a little more with 2 decent runs. His latest run at Newcastle was particularly encouraging as he pulled hard early on and plugged on to finish 5th of 15. If he can build on that again, then there is a chance he could get involved over this longer trip. He will appreciate the cut in the ground as well as plenty of his best runs have come on soft ground. Tracy Waggott is in fine form at the moment and is one of the top trainers at the track. I think Daniel Tudhope is an interesting jockey booking as he too is in good form and is one of the top jockeys at Newcastle. Korngold races off 49 here so is a full 14lbs lower than his only winning mark of 63. If early signs are anything to go by, then I believe Tracy Waggott can get this one back to his best. If she can, Korngold would have an excellent chance in this with conditions to suit.
