joeblitz
2.40 Southwell According To Trev Evs Stan James BOG A 2 horse race here. According To Trev did not travel well here the last day but jumped well and should improve while Brassick won well at Uttoxeter. According To Trev looks the call though with a cd win to his name and while he looks sure to come on for that run he is trained by Twiston Davies who does very well at this time of year and is in form. 10 Points win According To Trev Evs Stan James BOG 3.10 Southwell Sugar Hiccup 6/4 Paddy Power BOG Sugar Hiccup won his last 2 races effortlessly and although up 18lbs this race is no better than the ones he has been winning. With the fast ground still here the horse in form is still the one to beat even with the extra weight. 10 Points win Sugar Hiccup 6/4 Paddy Power BOG
Bathtime For Rupert
Re: Jump Racing Wednesday 4th September 2.10 Southwell - 3pts win That's The Deal @ 100/30 (Hills) John Cornwall's runner was last seen at Aintree but couldn't go with two comfortably higher-rated rivals on that occasion and the return to this level will suit at a venue that he goes particularly well at. He's twice a c&d winner among some other good efforts and won a grade 3 at Fontwell two starts back. Has been running in better races than this and holding his form perfectly well. Can be excused last time when facing rivals rated comfortably in the 130s and after a short break (has won after one before) should go very well in a weaker contest under ideal conditions. 3.10 Southwell - 2pts win Duchess Theatre @ 5/1 (Bet365) Whilst true that the Jim Best favourite has very comfortably won her last two, I'm not totally convinced she's bombproof up 18lbs for winning a modest race last time. I think she'll face stiffer competition today from Mick Easterby's charge who has the scope to progress and the form to suggest she can make a mark off her current rating of 93. Was obviously highly thought of to be entered in a listed Aintree bumper last year and ran very well after over a year off on her hurdling debut behind a smart type. Again was a solid second when last seen (7l back to the third) where the winner was rated 108 and giving my selection 10lbs. There wasn't a huge amount between them and now entering handicaps off 93, and this being just her third hurdling start, she can put it up to the favourite and hopefully cause a bit of an upset.
