My backing of horses has been terrible lately, so I'm trying my hand with laying. Sometimes I can look at a race, see a short priced favourite and think it won't win, and try to take it on with another in the field. The favourite doesn't win, but neither does my selection so perhaps I should be laying the favourite instead if I don't think it'll win. Only paper trailing at the moment though to see how I get on before doing it with a real laying betting bank. Also, ill try to update figures as much as possible, but if anyone notices any genuine mistakes I've made please correct me as I'd like this to be as correct as possible. First lay for me is BAY CENTRAL in the 5:15 Newton Abbot. A winner over fences but has never won over today's trip, and never over hurdles in which he reverts to today. The race is poor and may be ideal to get him off the mark over hurdles but I couldn't back it at 15/8 so will instead paper lay it at 2/1

Re: Nickf88's Lays Good start to the thread as Bay Central doesn't win, going off 13/8 favourite. If it's OK with the mods I'll just use paper figures (e.g. £20 etc) to explain my lays properly instead of using 1pt ?
