Pontefract Previews: http://www.punterslounge.com/pontefract-betting-3-selections-for-sunday-s-racing-from-pontefract-20130623 Pontefract 3.10pm He is owned by Sir Robert Ogden and it would be great for the owners to have a winner here after losing Thomas Chippendale at Royal Ascot on Saturday. This horse travelled well last time out and went clear when asked for an effort and the comments “smooth headway” is something I often look out for in the form but then the horse has to find something when asked a question. The horse cost 315,000 guineas so he should be better than a 77 rated handicapper is Sir Robert Ogden is ever going to get back some of what he paid. Selection: 2pts WIN – Carthaginian 4-1 BetVictor (BOG) Pontefract 3.40pm She was 3rd at Goodwood in a listed race over 12f but she was struggling to get through for a run when losing her place but then ran on again from 1f out and managed to grab 3rd place. That might suggest she wants further but she has won twice over 10f and this stiff 10f could suit. She kept on over 12f last time out and finished 4th but that was on good to firm ground. She might not be good enough and could keep finding a few too good and probably has Main Sequence to beat. Selection: 1pt WIN – Souviens Toi 13-2 Stan James (BOG) Pontefract 4.10pm Orsippus took this race 12 months ago under Kieren Fallon from a mark of 75 on soft ground. Neil Callan takes the ride today from a mark of 77 and the ground could be quite soft by race time as the course will no doubt have taken a lot of rain. Orsippus was due to run here earlier this season but was withdrawn due to fast ground so lacks fitness from a recent flat run but he was seen in May over hurdles so should still have some condition from then. He was a 4 ½ length winner last season and even then he won so easily he could be eased down at the finish. I expect another big effort here and he probably has Eagle Rock to beat. Selection: 2pts WIN – Orsippus 9-2 Betfred (BOG)

Re: Flat Racing - Sunday 23rd June Pontefract 2:40 - Dare To Achieve Hughes has ridden 3 maiden favs for Haggas since 2012 and 2 of them have won, even going back a couple more years the figures still hold up - 4 in 6 since 2010 :ok There is much to like about this 3yo, he finished 2nd in a maiden to Remote after being off the track for 8 months. That race has worked out very well with 5 winners from 17 runs, not least a Royal Ascot winner.. Only Marathonbet have released prices for this race at present and he's currently 4/9, will wait and see if any other firms are more generous in the coming hours or maybe a distance bet could be in order.
