harrisman
THis is something I've been pondering about recently, maybe I havn't noticed so much in the past but there seems to be a lot more 'dual' code horses running these days.Maybe a sign of the economic times perhaps?I have to admit I often find it difficult to compare all the form from the two codes and of course 'bumper' horses running on the flat races muddies the waters even more especially when they are contesting grey area events like 1M 6F. I've had some success in these cases trying to categorise the relative ratios of speed/stamina relating to breeding/distance/course formation and going on day with some success although putting a a relative 'weighting' to these ideas is tricky as is trying to compare top speeds flat/jumps and relative OR between the codes I'd be really interested in others viewpoints here as this is an area where I feel there may well be marked discrepancies in prices to be exploited-the long distance race at York last week being won cosily by the JP Mc horse at a very nice price being a perfect example.
