Flat Racing Tuesday 21st May

3.10 Brighton Brighton can be a funny track and it often pays to race handily and also stick with horse who are proven at the track as it can be quite unbalancing similar to tracks like Epsom. Above The Stars is clearly thriving at present having won last twice first time on fast ground and last time out on good/soft. He is now 7lb higher under todays penalty and that demands a lot more and always stuggled off marks slightly higher than 65 like todays of 71, also un tried at the course. Wooden King should come on for his seasonal reappearance and has slipped below his last winning mark now after a very poor end to last season and fear is he is regressing with age at present and needs to show more despite being 1 from 3 around here. Commandingpresence won completely out of the blue on the AW last time out, now she is 13lb higher back turf and 5lb above her best winning mark so clearly needs to find more. In what is a weak race a chance has to be given to Stonecrabstomorrow who has won 4 times around here from 15 starts, he does remain 3lb above his last winning mark he still looks competitive especially when 2nd on seasonal reappearance behind Go Nani Go failed to back that up last time out but would be no surprise to see him bounce back around here. 2pt win Stonecrabstomorrow 6/1 bet365 4.10 Brighton Highland Duke looks a very short price, he was a good 2nd on seasonal reappearance at Windsor but has been bumped up 2lb in the handicap and will need to continue his progression but looks far too short to be backing myself. Presburg might not be suited to the way this race is run given the small field and he largely remains frustrating. Silver Alliance only scored narrowly last time out and a 2lb rise might just be enough to stop him going in again. Nave is on a huge losing run and needs to pull something more out to start scoring again. Final Delivery ran a stinker last time out and it may just be he has had enough for now and this mark has always proved too much. I am gonna take a risk at Megalala bouncing back to something like his best in this despite him ageing he was in good form last year but finished summer on the backfoot and similar story so far this season but 3rd run now and hopefully any cobwebs blown out now and handicapper given him a real chance dropping him 13lb below his last winning mark. It will depend on what Nave does but he may get a soft lead in this and it will suit him around here. He is also 5 from 15 around here a fantastic 33% strike rate. If he bounces back to form 12/1 looks a huge price in a race like this. 2pt win Megalala 12/1 bet365

Re: Flat Racing Tuesday 21st May *Amazing Amoray > Newcastle 5:30 > WIN @ 8/1 VC BOG* Won a good Class 3 handicap at Leicester when last seen 252 days ago at Leicester. Should be cherry ripe after a nice break, and the Barron's yard are known for getting horses ready after a break. Graham Gibbons is a good booking, and this horse has won fresh before. The Barron yard is also in good form.
