16.40 Beverly: Flamingo Beat @ 7/1 Bet365 - 2pts win + Hurricane John @ 14/1 Bet365 - 1pt win Two against the very short favourite who looks the form pick but also vulnerable to improvers. There are two really interesting candidates here who could challenge him home. One of them is Flamingo Beat. He looked the likely winner in his third maiden, five weeks ago at Southwell, when he travelled super well until the 2f marker but was badly hanging to the left in the closing stages. This came over 7f and he stepped up accordingly to his pedigree to more suitable 10f at Lingfield on handicap debut. He travelled well again but didn't really get the run of the race travelling on the outside of the field so that he had to turn widest of all which cost him ground. He stayed on in the closing stages, suggesting a further step up in trip would be fine and probably the right thing. This happens tomorrow in this 12f contest. He has every chance on pedigree to stay this distance and the way he finished his race at Lingfield is backing this evidence. Trainer Rae Guest has a tremendous record here at Beverly over the last year with a 40% strike rate, as well as with jockey De Sousa, whose booking is eye-catching, with whom he has a 30% SR overall. Second horse I like is Hurricane John. He was disappointing on his handicap debut, but it was also his first start this year, so probably excusable. He steps up to 12f for the first time, a trip which is very likely to suit as there is plenty of stamina in his pedigree with his sire having been a multiple Group 1 winner over 12f and his dam being a winner over up to 14f. The handicapper gives him a chance, taking 4lb off his mark now, and as David Nicholls having a really fine record here at Beverly it wouldn't surprise to see Hurricane John going very close tomorrow. 20.10 Warwick: Play Street @ 9/2 Bet365 Play Street was probably the most unluckiest horse I've seen this year so far. She travelled really well and was poised for a big challenge but simply didn't get a run. She was locked on the inside rail from 4f out and had to sit and suffer while travelling on the bridle strongly. Just inside the final furlong a gap finally opened and she picked up straightaway finishing easily 2nd. She is allowed to race off the same mark again and I expect her to be highly competitive of this mark. She's stepping up in trip to 12f, which isn't impossible despite loads of speed on the dam side. But she finished full of running lto so I think she'll get the trip. If she doe she's not to beat here.

Re: Flat Racing - Tuesday 14th May 3.10 Beverley Mey Blossom might be worth a punt at a huge price. She went a long time without a win but caught the eye several times on the AW before finally getting her head back in front at Wolves off a mark of 55. She than ran 2 good runner up efforts last one off a mark of 60, ran a bit of a stinker after that and was then off for 3 months after that to suggest maybe she had enough or something was wrong. Never got involved in comeback run at Donny last time out but can be expected to come on for that run and handicapper taking a real chance dropping her to 57 and a very capable 5lb claimer also takes over who is 1 from 1 with this yard and that was in last 14 days so yard appear in some sort of form. She remains dangerously well handicapped having won off marks in the 70’s and even 80’s in her younger days, ground with some cut shouldn’t be problem having won on good ground in the past aswell as fast ground. Very interesting runner and overpriced at 18/1 in my opinion! 1pt e/w Mey Blossom 18/1 vc
