geo the ger
Hi, Looking for a bit of advice, i put £50 on Cris Di Marco to win accenture matchplay yesterday morning at 9/1. He is now 5/4 With David Toms 4/7. Should i put money on Toms in case Marco loses????????. as you can probably see i am still a bit of a novice punter:hope
dprovan
Re: should i cover my bet??? for a novice punter, thats a big bet mate;) It depends on your views about the £50 you have placed you could lay Di Marco or back Toms using another £80 that way if Toms wins you break even and if Di Marco wins you are £450 up minus the £80 you cover the bet with..... Equally you could invest more to ensure you make a profit either way!!!! however this will obviously greatly reduce your winnings should Di Marco win. It really depends on how you view that £50 you have invested, you could also wait and hope DI Marco has a good start and Toms price moves out then back him.... It really is your decision based on your views on the risk etc.. Hope that helps if it was me,,,, Id cover my stake and let it run then you have a bet running for free basically. tipstar
Re: should i cover my bet??? personally Id lay Di Marco on BF for 186.57 @ 2.68 for a guarenteed £130 better to have a guarenteed £130 than a possible
2damnhype
Re: should i cover my bet??? You are right in what you say Tipstar, but I think in these situations the laying decision depends some what on why the bet was placed in the first place. If you backed DiMarco cos you thought he was going to win the tournament then just covering the stake is a great idea. If you backed DiMarco because you thought he would progress further and his price shorten then guaranteeing yourself maximum profit on either side is the way to go. The only problem with the latter is that it removes any fun from watching the Final this afternoon!
tipstar
Re: should i cover my bet??? As I said thats what I would do The only problem with the latter is that it removes any fun from watching the Final this afternoonI might look at it different to other people I dont know, But I never bet money for fun. If I want fun I go to Blackpool pleasure beach :ok
