Flat Racing 6th Feb

1.30 Southwell Bladewood Girl is unexposed with just the 6 runs and managed to land a handicap on her handicap debut, has quickly struggled to build on that off revised mark, failed to beat a rival last time out and must bounce back with the surface an unknown. Miama Gator usualy runs in claimers and sellers and has been slightly out of sorts in those races and has therefore dropped markedly in the weights, ran much better returned to handicap last time out and if building on that and handling the surface should go close off this sort of mark but looks short enough with the surface unknown. Minortransgression is a surface specialist and form took a new level last winning off a mark of 65 returns to this surface after a poor spell on polytrack but does return on a mark of 62. Efistorm can go well here but yard badly out of sorts at present and this trip surely stretches him. Mystical Witch ran his best race when 2nd around here over 7f in a weak maiden at 100/1, not really backed that up back in handicaps on polytrack since and needs to proce this mile trip is suitable looked to empty out over a mile last time out. Gay Gallivantor is worth a risk at a reasonable price shame theres only the 7 runners for 2 places but his course form makes him look a big price against other course specialists. He won a shade cosy when last seen here in November off a basement mark, has since struggled to replicate that on polytrack but return to this surface may be the key, despite having to race off a 5lb higher mark. Yard also had a runner run well here yesterday so should go well despite the death box in stall 1 but 7 runner field should help that. 2pt win Gay Gallivantor 9/1 SJ 2.00 Southwell Not the most competitive handicap and a few have a lot to prove on the surface. Elusive Warrior has won 10 times around here but at the age of 10 you would expect him to need the run after nearly 3 months off. Hittinthe Skids is just moderate and was a tad disappointing trying to follow up last time out, cheekpieces on for the first time and never been tried on the surface before. Ace Of Spies ran a moderate race yesterday here with the yard continueing badly out of form. Bird Dog is on a good mark based on his fibresand form from last year but overruling thought is he was better over 5f. Not sure this race will take much winning and Ishi is an interesting runner. She picked up a weak maiden at Lingfield in December, not quite been as good back in handicaps and could easily fall short again but the change of surface offers hope. Millmans runners often run well here 17% strike rate 11 from 65 and Atzeni also a strong booking with a 17% strike rate for the yard and often rides well here. Dam was a winner on the surface and yard had a winner here yesterday. Well drawn aswell in stall 5. 1pt e/w Ishi 9/1 PP

Re: Flat Racing 6th Feb 3.40 Southwell Caledonia Prince 3/1 most places. If I am right, this looks like a serious Paul Blockley plant, and they will back it accordingly in the next half hour. Given top weight in this claimer, they obviousley dont realy want to get rid, but he still comes way out in front, on a track that suits. They should go off pretty quick here, but he wont be far off, and I can see him coming clear winthin the last 2 furlongs, Joe is back on board, very significant. I am on, decent win bet for me.
