BBOTD 3rd Feb Sunday

Recommended Posts

4.40 Lingfield Maison Brillet is potentially well treated having placed off marks in the high 60's last winter but has failed to capatilise so far and has something to prove at present having run 2 unimpressing runs after a break recently. Uncle Roger is now 6lb higher than when winning over this trip at Kempton, ran well in claimer afterwards before disappointing over hurdles, has something to prove after that and off this mark aswell. El Libertador comes from a yard very quiet at present and he finds winning very hard these days and makes little appeal at present despite running to a similar consistent level. Petersboden has ran 2 better races recently but has far from cried out for a step up in trip having looked stretched over a mile penultimate start before tiring again over extended 9f at Wolves last time this looks a snatch at desperation. That makes Crimson Monarch look to hold a solid chance in a weak race to win his 2nd ever race as a 9yr old. He really caught the eye last time out coming through with a very strong run before fading towards the end drops back in trip should suit on that evidence. This is a very winnable race and should go well. 1pt win Crimson Monarch 7/2 bet365

Re: BBOTD 3rd Feb Sunday *Don Cossack > Punchestown 1:20 > WIN @ 11/10 VC BOG* Fell at the last when beat by Pont Alexander last time out. However, Pont Alexander is a special horse, and form behind that horse will turn out to be useful. Previously to that, was ultra impressive at Navan, winning by 9 1/2 lengths, won by 17 lengths at Fairyhouse the run before that, won a Grade 2 at Navan and won by 18 lengths at Naas the run before that. This is an exceptional horse, and if it runs to 80% it should win this in a canter. Is still lightly raced, and should be odds on for me.
