Flat Racing 31st Jan

3.00 Lingfield Valdaw scored very well last time out and had been running well prior to that but had found winning hard and his run style can catch him out sometimes. This looks a much strong race with a 5lb rise and has to prove as effective around here very short price worth taking on. Glennten isnt guaranteed a soft lead given the presence of Waterloo Dock in the field and he looks very reliant on that. All form has come at Wolves and has disappointed at Kempton. This is first try at Lingfield and might be best watched. Chjimes is well handicapped but hasnt looked like taking advantage for sometime now and has had a busy spell. John Coffey remains a maiden and looks strictly limited on what he has shown at present and the blinkers need to have a pretty major affect at present. Waterloo Dock might be worth taking a risk with at a reasonable price. He had been badly out of sorts most of this winter. Ran a complete stonker on penultimate start unable to ge to the front, much better effort last time out in a 5 runner handicap when able to dominate. There doesnt look a huge amount of competition for the lead here and therefore he has to have a chance to build on that effort. He is well handicapped 11lb below last winning mark. 1pt e/w Waterloo Dock 16/1 bet365 7.20 Wolverhampton Not a great race at all but one does stand out as a bit of a chance against weak opponents and a lot of them have stamina to prove. Goldan Jess atleast has shown he is in good form at present having gone close twice over CD recently but not quite so good last time potentially showing a sign that a 4lb rise may have just held him and now has to step up again. It might be worth taking a chance on Postmaster who hasnt been seen on the flat since Aug 2008 but has since become a very useful chaser rated 138 and although when last seen over jumps he wasnt at his best and this may just be being used as a pipe opener before some better ground becomes available on the turf but if he can show any of his improvement over jumps on the flat he is dangerously well handicapped off a mark of just 49 it is also worth noting all his best form has been on the AW surface including a win around here. 2pt win Postmaster 11/2 vc

Re: Flat Racing 31st Jan Wolverhampton 5.20 Point North 1pt win @ SP (currently 20-1 with various bookies) 7th of 9 by 21 lengths 17 days ago but that was his first start since last November so it can be forgiven. Plus, it was a fair effort with the problem being a slow start, then made headway on outer 3f out from the 7f contest here, had every chance until weakened over 1f out.
