Wolverhampton 5.00 - Speightowns Kid (8.00), Seek The Fair Land (13.00), Seeking Magic (5.00), RFC, RTC With the draw bias all but eliminated over 6F at Wolves now, it is pace which is the strongest angle in this race. The majority want to be held-up and it is only Speightowns Kid who shows serious interest in leading. This and his good form make him a strong contender. Da'Quonde is another pacey sort but the high mark and layoff make her unattractive. I wonder if Seek The Fair Land can pull off a little trick here? He has a great record at the conditions but is getting old now, however I see recently he has tended to race in the rear of the pack in higher class races, only to drop a class and steam on to win. I fancy him to pull that move here. A horse on a hot streak and with pace is Kakatosi. But the rising mark and the wide draw put me off. Seeking Magic is obviously expected to do great things as evidenced by his entry into higher class races than this in the past. Also has a unique racing style and the power that this horse has under the hood is easy to see. I have had my eye on this one and this race looks a little easier than it is used to. Poor form or too restrained the rest.

Re: Flat Racing ~ Fri 11 Jan They went quicker then expected with Da'Quonde putting sustained pressure on the leader. Thankfully Seek The Fair Land, who raced behind the leaders, managed to hang on to win at 14/1. He was being closed down by two hold-up horses! :) That tricast will have to wait...
