gbettle Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Howdy all, Hope this message finds everyone well - roll on 2013. So very sorry, but I'm having a real brain fart at the moment. I'm paper trialling a system and i.e. let's look at 3 races. My stake is £2: Raceid Course Position Horseid Sp Sptext Spdecimal Backresult Layresult 562388 Tramore 6 739745 11/4F F 3.75 -2.00 2.00 565371 Tramore 2 798245 7/1 8.00 -2.00 2.00 570435 Tramore 1 781905 3/1 4.00 8.00 -6.00 I make the BackResult column: If Position = 1 then BackResult = Stake + ( Stake * SPDecimal - 1). If the Position is not 1, then BackResult = -Stake For the LayResult column: If Position = 1 then LayResult = -Stake + ( SPDecimal - 1). If the Position is not 1, then LayResult = Stake So, for those 3 races, I'd be +£4 up if I had Backed all 3 and -£2 if I had Layed them all. Is that correct? Cheers, Thanks ... TA! Garry Quote
Aidymac Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Re: Stupid P&L question No, you would be up 2 backing them, or down 2 laying them mate. A 3/1 winner is +6, subtract the two losers = -4, = +2 Quote
