Flat Racing 30th Dec

2.10 Lingfield Small field for prize pot which is likely to make this a tactical affair. Webbow has proved super consistent on the AW but is best coming from off the pace and unlikely to get much to chase here today off a mark that is likely to prove to high. George Guru is another that is still progressing on the AW but is another that is best off a strong pace and can often race fairly keenly. His recent win was boosted when the 2nd went on to win a listed event around here. Lockantanks is yet another that likes and end to end gallop and has been a credit to this stable he finds himself 4lb above his last AW handicap winning mark having won a conditions race last time out and had struggled off this sort of mark previously. Grey Mirage is likely to get a soft lead in this field but remains 3lb above only handicap winning mark and didn’t suggest he was ready to cash in when fading out of it behind George Guru last time out. Hometown Glory is up 7lb for last time out win, the 2nd has since won. This is a stronger race and has to prove a 7lb rise isn’t harsh. Embankment is worth taking a risk on, he has won 2 of his 4 starts. He won first time up for this yard at Kempton over this trip went up 6lb for that effort and never went a yard last time out. He is clearly better than that run and may just find this small field bit more confidence boost and could still be open to plenty of improvement. 2pt win Embankment 7/1 boyles 3.50 Lingfield Not many of these make much appeal to be honest. Renoirs Lady has very patchy profile, she has been one to catch fresh everytime she is turned out quickly she has hardly beaten a rival. She did meet trouble at vital stage last time out but even when gap appeared she looked strictly one paced and never looked like winning despite interference. Silly Billy has been consistent but without scoring and he may just be in the grip of the handicapper at present and stall 13 around here a big negative. Jackie Love bounced back to form last time out narrowly going down to Macks Sister pulling well clear of third (Renoirs Lady). Has been put up 3lb and always struggled off marks around the 50 and likely to have to settle for place at best despite good draw. Putin is another creeping back up the weights after a string of good efforts, he has won off higher markers but being kept busy at present and wide draw another negative at a short enough price. Gonna take 2 against the field both come with plenty of risk but are priced accordingly. Doctor Hilary has ran 2 eye catching races since coming back from a break most notably last time out when getting caught on heels turning in last time out at 6f before getting going again and finishing well, step upto 7f no problem dropped a 1lb for that effort and has now fallen to 4lb below his last winning mark and should go well if the gaps appear in time. The other is Onceaponatime who has only beaten 1 home since coming back from over 560 days off the track, this is now is 3rd run back and should be stripping fitter now and handicap being very generous now rated just 53 having been placed off marks in the 70’s in early 2011 and last won off a mark of 78, blinkers on for the first time since break and he improved for the fitting of them previously. He too is reliant on a good pace and the gaps appearing but should atleast get the pace to chase around here in this sort of field. 2pt win Doctor Hilary 9/1 pp 1pt win Onceaponatime 12/1 vc

Re: Flat Racing 30th Dec 15.20 - Lingfield - Kaylee @ 7/1 Sportingbet I thought that this looked like the more straightforward of the two class 6 handicaps to solve at Lingfield today. My selection is Kaylee who has twice been placed on the polytrack in the past month or so. She only found Monumental Man too strong here last time who has since gone on to score again under a penalty. Dropped 1lb since last run and looks on a fair mark particularly with 7lb claim of Ned Curtis (who is 4 wins from 11 at Lingfield this year). Tries 7f for the first time which doesnt look like the most obvious move but could well be what she needs to get her off the mark.
