CLASS RATING

Hi everyone looking for some way to give each horse in race a class rating, I have tried, the divide money won into races won, and I have read Stuart Eaton's book Class figures, both of which I am not to convinced about. It's took me a while but I can now give each horse a speed rating in a race, but i would like to combine this with a class rating, and I was wondering if any one had any ideas I could work from, apart from the two mentioned.
