Bathtime For Rupert Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 1.20 Catterick - 1pt win Key Ambition @ 16/1 (Hills) With Garry Moss' horses in form I think his runner here is a fair bit overpriced with conditions to suit and off a decent mark. He initially ran in some pretty hot nurseries for Bryan Smart (including a head defeat at Newbury off 1lb higher than today) and his close 4th to Ballesteros and Mince reads extremely well now. His form tailed off, however, at the end of the year with a poor run at Kempton and then got outpaced before staying on at Southwell in January to take 2nd. The tongue-tie was applied on that occasion but was removed for his reappearance run this season at Chester when shaping as if needing the run in 6th and he ran well enough with it back on at Wolverhampton last time in a decent race. I think he'd be better on turf with a bit of give though so conditions this afternoon can prove better with the track, trip and ground offering little of concern. The tongue-tie is retained but supplemented by first-time cheekpieces which can hopefully bring out a bit more and if that's the case then he shouldn't be far away today. Quote
