Last time out was a very good second up in trip behind Kiwayu, and it was 10 lengths clear of the horse that finished third that day which was eye-catching. Re: Flat Racing Friday 5th of October 5.15 Ascot Gabriel's Lad 0.5pt EW @ 9/1 SkyBet Really competitive stuff here but this horse is pretty consistent and should give it his best shot off a 2lb higher mark than when finishing 3rd at York. In 8 starts he has only failed to place once but has only won once hence the each way bet. The form of his York race looks very strong with 2 in form animals in Hamza and Heeraat finishing ahead of him and the impressive next time out winner Jack Dexter finishing one place behind him. Gabriel's Lad does keep edging up the handicap without winning but he should have a good chance here with Fallon booked for the ride. He may just end up on the wrong side of the track for this but I will take that chance. I don't think he would want much more rain as his best performances have come on a quick surface but he showed at York when finishing behind the impressive Sholaan that he can handle soft ground.
