sarah07 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Wednesday's Sandown Hillside meeting has been called off by the Racing Victoria stewards due to strong winds. In the past 18 hours, extreme winds have pounded most of Victoria, with fallen trees blocking the roads resulting to heavy traffic across the state. Riders rode in the opening race of the TVN Handicap (100m), but with 90 km/h of winds caused problems for the jockeys and their mounts. The said race was won by the Craig Dickson-trained Nicholls Court. After the opening race stewards and riders agreed to abandon the rest of the racing within the day. Quote
