Pricing up a race

Recommended Posts

Re: Pricing up a race How is your maths? You can quite easily get an odds converter calculator: http://www.onlinegambling.com/sports/odds-converter-calculators.htm I think that link should work. If not just go to the onlinegambling site and look for odds converter calculators. Do you understand overround? Bookies price a race up with an overround to make money. Punters try and price up to 100% whereas bookies take their profits into account so a coin flip of heads and tails should be 50-50, even money but a bookie will offer odds of 10-11 each result. Unbelievably this bet was available in Euro 2012 for which team would kick off first at those given odds, a clear example of something that offers no value whatsoever. Have a look at each horses chances over trip, ground, recent form, trainer form etc etc, allocate a rough price to each horse and then re evaluate each horses chances, bringing your race to 100%. If you have a RP membership you can click on notes, input odds for each horse and it works out your book for you to the percentage total. It's all about opinions and the idea of pricing a race up to 100% is to find horses that have a better chance of winning than their odds suggest. The Saint probably has a quick way of doing this as I believe he prices a fair few races up so hopefully he can give you a quick and easy method. Hope this helps, any problems give us a shout and I'll try help you out. :ok
