DeanK
The Gai Waterhouse juggernaut rolled on at Rosehill on Saturday with the star trainer providing 3 winners on the 8 race card. Gun 3 year old Pierro won the Run To The Rose, emerging stayer Glencadam Gold took out the Premiers Cup and boom youngster Proisir won the TVN Jockeys Trust over 1400m. Pierro who was shooting for his 7th consecutive victory and opened in the black with all early markets but come race day he was smashed into red figures and by the jump he was into 1.55. Waterhouse was both relieved and excited with her colts first up victory. "I have to admit I was even a little nervous today," Waterhouse said. "I wasn't going to start him if I didn't think he could wipe the floor with these horses. "He is an outstanding, outstanding colt. He is Australia's best by far." Pierro will now race in the Bill Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley and then into the Caulfield Guineas. The Cox Plate may follow this if all things go to plan. Jockey Nash Rawiller spoke after the race, in awe of Pierro. "He was awesome," Rawiller said. "It took a while to get in his rhythm and then he ambled up and it was game over. "He has come back a much more professional horse." http://www.betzone.com.au/the-rosehill-wrap-gai-s-day-at-rosehill
