20.40 - Wolverhampton - Raving Monsun @ 5/1 Bet365 Marco Botti's 3yo filly showed nothing in 3 maidens before making what i felt was a promising start in handicap company. She came out of the stalls very slowly and it didn't help she was drawn wide at Kempton but travelled pretty nicely and made up ground down the straight when staying on to take 5th. Not all that far behind winner Fleur De Vie who was obviously well handicapped having scooted up off a 6lb higher mark since. My selections opening mark was a modest 62 and she has been dropped 2lb after her opening effort. Interestingly has the inform Silvestre De Sousa booked for the ride which would suggest to me the yard are confident of a decent run, as he has a 37.5% strike rate when riding for Botti. She is also the least exposed of this field and is still open to plenty of improvement. Was hoping for slightly better odds but still worth a play at the price for me.

Re: Flat Racing Wednesday 29th August *Shamdarley - Wolverhampton 7:40* This horse now steps up in trip and wears a first time hood which could eek out more improvement also. The longer trip will suit better too, as it was staying on late on it's last few runs. It ran really well on it's polytrack debut last month when a close 3rd to Famous Poet @ 16/1 at Kempton, so the ground should be perfect, and it does go on it. Is also a pound lower than that run, but should come on for that debut run, so a promising run expected tomorrow. Dods stable are doing well and 2 of his last 6 runners at Wolverhampton have won. *1 Point WIN @ 7/1 Ladbrokes BOG*
