Americain to start on Sunday

Recommended Posts

With trainer Alain De Royer-Dupre, Americain is scheduled to start at Deauville, in Sunday's Group II Prix Kergorlay (3000m). Americain showed an excellent performance when the galloper got the victory in the 2011 Melbourne Cup quest. Co-owner Colleen Bamford told Racing Victoria said, "the horse is very relaxed and doing really well, we're very happy with him.” "He had a hit out yesterday and Alain was really happy with him.” The stayer will be partnered my winning jockey Gerald Mosse and will race with nine rivals including stablemate who is also entered for the Caulfield Cup,Shahwardi. Americain has met with support in early business on the Melbourne Cup. The son of Dynaformer was equal favourite at $21 with Luxbet earlier in the week before punters stepped in and backed him into $19. "He's easily the best backed runner of the international big guns," Luxbet's Neil Evans said.
