DeanK
[h=1]The Flemington Wrap: Warrior takes out the Star[/h] In somewhat of a minor upset newly turn 4 year old Shanghai Warrior has won his first group race by taking out the Aurie’s Star at Flemington on Saturday. In his first start in open age Group company, the Pat Hyland trained galloper settled handy to a sluggish tempo set by Golden Archer who was left in front after the Zamorar camp opted to try and find cover in the run rather than go forward. He travelled sweetly in the run, as did Golden Archer and the pair squared off with 200m to go, but inside the final 100m the stronger horse in Shanghai Warrior took the upper hand and raced away to a 1 length victory. "This horse has got some real ability," trainer Pat Hyland said. "You'll see the best of him a bit later on when he gets over more ground, these are just the preliminaries." "I ride him in all his work and I'll keep doing it," he said. http://www.betzone.com.au/the-flemington-wrap-warrior-takes-out-the-star
