Cowan
Beverley 4.05 - Fear Nothing (5/2), Select Committee (6/1), Steelcut (8/1), RFC, RTC This field are likely to split into frontrunners and hold-ups quite quickly with the frontrunners having a considerable gap over their counterparts. This could prove to much to overcome for the hold-ups, so the advantage lies with the front group. Of these, most are veterans who are well held at their marks so I prefer the others. Fear Nothing has struggled to develop, but since switching to a new yard has won twice on the trot this season - albeit at class 6, but this one is a rising star. Select Committee is another veteran and is at a steady mark right now. Always gives its best round Beverley and has picked up recently. Perhaps today it came overcome its mark. Steelcut is another who has been in the game for some time. Its easy to see from this ones history that it wants 5f on turf in a strongly run race. Also its form this season has shown desire and poor performances in races can be put down to lack of pace. This one has the right conditions to win today. robertob
Re: Flat Racing ~ Tues 31st ~ Not Goodwood 15.55 Ayr: The Tiger @ 9/4 VC Very impressive win at his seasonal debut three weeks ago at Ripon which was only his second start overall. He missed the break and had to be hard ridden to get back into contention, he didn't get the clearest of runs as wel was also slightly outpaced 4f out, yet he won comfortably only hands and heels ridden. His opening mark of 79 looks not harsh and with likely improvement for the step up in trip he should be very hard to beat in this rather poor field.
