Race class

Hi would like some help please, I am trying to put a system together and I would like to know the classes of races, for the flat I using the following. GROUP 1 140 GROUP 2 133 GROUP 3 126 CLASS 1 119 CLASS 2 112 CLASS 3 105 CLASS 4 98 CLASS 5 91 CLASS 6 84 CLASS7 77 As you can see I use a 7lb difference, what I would like to know is this correct, and is the National Hunt different to the flat.

Re: Race class The Racing Post suggest the following, 130+ top class 120+ Group 1 115+ Group 2 110+ Group 3 105+ Listed class 95+ top handicapper 80-95 useful handicapper 70-80 decent handicapper 60-70 fair handicapper 45-60 sellers/modest handicapper Over jumps the scale is 0 to 175 (12st 7lb) The flat scale is 0 to 140 (10st) it is unusual for a horse to be rated as high as 140, however we are in unusual times & Frankel is currently rated 140. Camelot who has won the 2000 Guineas, the Derby & the Irish Derby has a mark of 124, in a normal year you would expect the top class horses to be rated around the 130 mark which is where I would expect Camelot to end up. Sea the Stars for instance was rated at 124 after winning the Derby but by the time he had finished his rating was 135. Rio.
