Flat racing - Tuesday 12th June

13.45 Vaal: Dynasty Rose @ EW 20/1 sportingbet It took her 13 attempts to get off the mark, though it has to be said that she improved allot for the switch to sand since she changed the yard. She ran very well here on her only second start at the Vaal sand track in the middle of May and confirmed her preference for the track two weeks later with an impressive win in a maiden. She clocked an excellent time and finished fast what suggested that there might be more to come. Connections supplemented her now in a fillies and mare Handicap that lacks strengths in depth and in what she can race as a featherweight thanks to her weight for age allowance and a probably lenient mark. She steps also up in trip to 1.800m but that looks in her favour as she stayed on very well the last two races and her pedigree is pointing into that direction as her sire Dynasty was a Grade 1 winner over 1.600m but also 2.000m and there is loads of stamina on the dam's side either. So distance won't be a problem and with a decent draw she should be able to get a good early and prominent position and avoid the awful kickback at Vaal's sand track. Eight runners going to post - I hope so at least - as then it is a pretty good each-way bet as I feel she could easily outran her price. She takes on older horses here, what is actually the only worry for me. But I'll give her a chance and 20/1 looks generous enough. 17.05 Salisbury: Kings Troop @ 15/2 VC An Epsom specialist, as two of his three career wins came at Epsom, though he also ran well at other track, to be fair. What makes Kings Troop particularly interesting in this race here is the fact that he goes very well on soft ground and that he is down to his last winning mark. This last win is already almost two years ago and came at Epsom on soft ground of a mark off 75. He struggled since then from higher marks more often than not, though he takes now a step down in class and is finally down to a handy mark again. He had his first start this year two weeks ago and should be fitter tomorrow, it's also very positive to see him supplemented at Salisbury because it looks as if trainer Alan King likes to saddle winners particularly at this track as he has a 27% strike rate over the last five years here. Jockey booking of Jimmy Fortune is another plus as the J/T combo worked very well in the past as well. So all in all Kings Troop ticks allot of right boxes and I hope he can justify my confidence.

Re: Flat racing - Tuesday 12th June wow .....its difficult to find a winner at the moment .....dont know if its the ground swinging or just a bad patch of form but nothing seems to be running its race at present .....hopefully thats got to change .......might just concentrate on a few strong bets for the time being 2.30 salis CRUCK REALTA looks a very strong horse for a maiden and surely must be difficult to beat and i can only see if the ground is overly soft that he should be beaten unless something drastic happens .......nothing ever dead cert but looks strong bet and very disappointing if doesnt go close today crucks realta 4pts win 2.92 (15/8) betfair
