May's Chester meeting

Recommended Posts

I know they mentioned it on the telly, but did anyone benefit from noticing that the owner of Fat Gary, who won the 2yo race on the Thurs, sponsored a race the following day? Things like this at important meetings I'd really like to keep an eye on but it would take someone terribly organised, with a keen eye to keep a track of and that ain't me! I can imagine someone like Erhaab managing it or maybe one of the new boys who are just getting into the game...

Re: May's Chester meeting Any reason why you think this would be important, especially when they'd be sponsoring a race on a different day? In the case of someone sponsoring a race that they're entering a horse in, then I'd agree that it is possibly worth noting. An example earlier this year would be Astracad, that won a race which was named after the owner's wife who had recently passed away. Trainers often sponsor a race for some exposure so if they had a runner, I guess it would be in their best interests for it go to well.
