Grosvenor Poker WSOP Warrior League - May 2012

We're looking for the kind of warrior who'd turn the 300 Spartans' legs to jelly. If you have the fighting spirit to become the Ultimate Warrior, then read on. Still here? Excellent. You're made of the right stuff. All you have to do is play the best you can, gain points for every tournament played, finish as high as you can, and win prizes based on your final position in the league. The top 15 grand final Warriors will win exclusive WSOP packages, and the first place Ultimate Warrior will win an Executive WSOP Package, worth $16,000. How it works

• Grosvenor Poker will run an MTT League that will feature six different tournaments, for a one-time entry fee of $200 + $15
• The tournaments will run twice a week during May 2012, on Monday and Wednesday at 8pm
• Players will be able to enter the league either by directly registering to it through the lobby, or by qualifying through the satellite promotion. The satellite promotion will commence on April 23rd, 2012. Registration for the league will be available from April 23rd to May 9th (at different costs, as detailed below), and will be permanently closed three hours before the 2nd event of the league starts on Wednesday, May 9th, at 8pm GMT. All the players who have entered the league will be registered to all 6 tournaments.
• Players will gain points on every league tournament they play, according to their finishing position.
• The best 5 tournaments out of 6 will be counted towards the leaderboard points.
• The last event on the league will be the WSOP Warrior Grand Final. The event will be open for 50% of the registered players who have reached the highest points numbers up to event #6.
• In the Grand Final event, players will be awarded with double points, and their final position will be determined by all the points they have accumulated through the entire league.

Registration Players can enter the WSOP Warrior Master League by registering to the below "no play" tournament:

• WSOP Warrior Registration A $200 + $15 Freezeout.
  • Registration will be available at the above cost from April 23rd 2012, until May 7th at 5pm.
  • Players who register for the above tournament will be automatically registered to events 1 – 6.

  • Registration will be available at the above cost from May 7th 2012 at 8pm, until May 9th at 5pm.
  • Players who register for the above tournament will be automatically registered to events 2 – 6.

The Events The league will include different NL Hold 'em events, as described below. The WSOP Warrior Grand Final event will be open to the top 50% of the registered players, who accumulated the highest number of leaderboard points up to this point.

Re: Grosvenor Poker WSOP Warrior League - May 2012 I hate this series. Granted, I haven't played well, and also missed one of the events, which did not help. But the points system is ridiculous, with the distribution being so top-heavy it clearly favours the stroke of luck at the end of each tournament that will give someone first position once rather than regularity. You can consistently say - finish 12th so always in the top 5% and you will only have as many points as someone who gets a 2d place once and is the first one out all the other times. Last night I finished 16th when my AA loses vs JJ, only to find out I just got 3 pts more than the guy who finished 90th two hours earlier. Seemed very much worth it!!! GL to the PL people still in.
