Flat Racing 10th April (Pontefract, Southwell and Yarmouth)

Recommended Posts

2.10 Yarmouth 2yr old races dont often interest me from a betting point of view, but I am hoping Sally Bruce gets slightly over looked in the betting hailing from a yard not renown for 2yr old winners/runners but she ran an eye catching race on debut when staying on well from a wide draw, just the 5 runners in this field and should have learnt a lot from that having appeared to travel well. That looks like that could have been a very hot little maiden for time of year. 1pt win Sally Bruce 3.30 Southwell Not the most inspiring lineup. La Capriosa looks dangerously handicapped and if blinkers have the desired effect she is running well enough to play a hand but she has always been better over 5f so slightly off putting at a short enough price. Ace Of Spies is also on a long losing run, drawn in stall 1 not ideal, but sound effort last time out but that was over a furlong further and it may now be a case that he needs further these days. Juarla has shown next to nothing in 2 runs this season and has something to prove despite having a reasonable record around here 1 from 3. The Magic Of Rio is all about speed and she has now run well twice around here this winter but they have been over 5f and this 6f trip may just stretch her. Gracies Gift is worth taking a chance on in a race of this nature. He too is on a long losing run but has been running generally consistent on this surface this winter, he has now dropped to a mark 13lb lower than his last CD win and the booking of Fallon looks significant. 2pt win Gracies Gift 5/1 bet365 5.50 Southwell Jonnie Skull is of obvious interest again with Fallon in the plate and an eye catching run last time out but may be a case others are currently better treated despite him running well. Bonnie Prince Blue is a lazy sort that can take a lot of effort to get a run out of but has been running slightly better recently, but always plenty of risk involved and is creeping back up the weights for placed efforts. Flow Chart was bitterly disappointing last time out having run well here previously and can only be watched on the back of that. With this race looking weak again a chance is taken on Billy Cadiz who clearly isnt the easiest to train given his patchy on off profile, 7yr od with only 15 runs to his name and very little noteworthy form but what form he has shown has been on this surface in 3 runs at beginning of AW season, needs to have been freshened up by break and the use of a 7lb claimer may be beneficiary in a weak race aslong as wide draw doesnt hinder him too much. 1pt win Billy Cadiz 6/1 bet365

Re: Flat Racing 10th April (Pontefract, Southwell and Yarmouth) *Jack My Boy - Yarmouth 4:45* Won off a mark of 86 the last time it won, and runs off 79 tomorrow, and Matthew Cosham takes off a further pounds. 4 of it's 5 wins have come over this trip of 6f, it needed the run last time out, and was run over an inadequate trip in any case. David Evans is in cracking form of late, with 3 of his last 10 runners winning, and getting a lot of places too. Matthew Cosham has a very good record riding for Evans. He has won 3 of his last 9 rides for him and in total has 31 wins from 221 runs producing a profit of +£15.53 to level stakes. *1 Point WIN @ 13/2 VC BOG*
