Bets you thought you had placed but hadn't

I had a very costly mistake yesterday afternoon. I thought I had backed Lorikarad in the hunter chase at Chepstow with BetVictor, but I had to deposit more money into my account which I did. I obviously then forgot to actually click on the place bet button again as after going back to the site just now the bet wasnt there. To make matters worse I actually went back to the site just before the race because I wanted to place a match bet on the race, but the site was down so I couldnt get on it. Had it been up I would have realised that the original bet had not been placed so I could have then placed it. The only saving grace was because I couldnt have the match bet I actually made a small top up bet with another bookie, but save to say this has cost me decent amount of money given it was a 9/1. Why is it when these things happen its never on a losing bet?

Tonight I was going to have a bet on Syracuse (-3) against Wisconsin in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen - I expected them to be about 6.5pt favourites, so was very keen on the line. About 25 mins before the match I logged on to the site to place the bet, but as I did my 3yr old daughter appeared at the living room door complaining of not feeling well and needing some calpol. When I felt her her temperature was definitely high, so gave her some calpol and she said she wanted me to lie with her. Obviously in that moment I forgot all about the basketball, and went and lay with her... fell asleep on her bed for over an hour, and woke with Syracuse up 33-23 and the line at 9.5pts, so I didn't bother. Turns out Wisconsin rallied and eventually only just went down 63-64!! So my poorly princess saved me
