Jersey Lily to Stay at the Breeding Barn

Recommended Posts

After a year long of racing career, with four wins from her 25 starts and almost $5000,000 in earnings, six-year-old Jersey Lily is being prepared to spend the rest of her life in the breeding barn. Owners have decided to retire the mare after a dissapointing run when finished down the track in the Listed Wenona Girl Quality (1400m) last Saturday at Randwick. The Les Bridge-trained galloper has been entered for sale in the 2012 Inglis Easter Broodmare sale on April 17-19 at Newmarket. Jersey Lily`s career has been defined last year when she finished second behind Aloha in the Group I Coolmore Stud Stakes. She also won two black-types races at the 2010 Listed Herald Sun Stakes (1400m) at Flemington and at the 2011 Listed Wiggle Quality at Warwick Farm. In 2010 at Randwick the mare also placed in the Group II Sapphire Stakes (1200m), The Group II Tristarc Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield in 2010 and the 2011 Group III Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill.
