2.05 Ludlow - 2pts win High On A Hill @ 7/1 (Bet365) Donald McCain's yard go well at the minute and this one looks sure to relish the better ground today. He's a decent flat stayer rated 79 on the turf having won on his final start before going hurdling over 1m6f at Salisbury. Struggling on his hurdling bow over 2m4f on soft ground at Hereford, but improved massively last time at Leicester to chase home a smart type by 2 3/4l (gap back to 3rd). Winner is rated 130 so it wasn't a bad effort, and he should improve now for better ground, as all his best flat form came on a sound surface. Bounce is possible for Monte Cavallo and Secret World looks vulnerable late on. This one should go well. 2.25 Doncaster - 2pts win Master Fiddle @ 6/1 (Hills) Has to find a bit on figures but Aikman hasn't really done that much over fences to date, and The Cockney Mackem must prove his stamina. Quentin Collonges is a worthy favourite but the form of his last effort hasn't been franked really and is another who may possibly bounce, even though he's had a bit of a break. Master Fiddle couldn't recover from a bad blunder last time in a nice race, but was a good horse over hurdles without running too many times, and he still has plenty of potential. If he can jump a bit better here, he'll have a sound chance. 4.05 Doncaster - 1pt win Patsy Finnegan @ 11/1 (Ladbrokes) Getting on a little bit now at 10 but ran very well last time to be a close 4th under similar conditions to today. Is a decent horse both over hurdles and fences, and seems to go best on decent ground which he gets today. The King yard are flying, and if ignoring this one's effort 2 starts back - when returning after a break, and on soft ground, he has a very sound chance on his last run, and his decent efforts in unfavourable novice chasers last term.
