2.20 Lingfield I am not going to tip Hereford Boy up today, he is a very tricky customer and I thought he was coming to win the race last time out over CD but that was a in a 6 runner weaker race than this and if he gets into a battle at the finish the chances are he'l be run out of it and given his run style he is unlike to fly through without a challenge so is therefore passed over despite running off same mark. There is no guarantee of pace here with no obvious front runner in the field so looking to have something prominent especially since winners around here have struggled from off the pace recently. Prince Of Burma bounced back to form last time out in first time blinkers also enjoying a truly run race unlikely to get that today and that is the main concern in this field. Salient looked a little better last time out than he has shown for a long time and could be the front runner in this field having previously front runned. He is potentially well treated on his best AW form having won off a 5lb higher mark but has always looked better over slightly shorter and must back up latest improvement. Woolston Ferry has been very consistent on the AW at Kempton recently over this trip but he is paying for his consistency with the handicapper not relenting and remains 5lb above last winning mark and will perhaps need things to fall apart in front of him. Grand Theft Equine finished in front of Woolston Ferry last time out but like him he will need a good gallop to aim at aswell. That race at Kempton rather fell apart with those held up all coming to the fore so its hard to rate that form to highly given the race rather fell apart and the time wouldnt suggest it wasnt run at a furious pace which is a concern (Although 5th and 6th won next time out so not perhaps as bad as it first looks) I really liked the way City Legend won just 2 days ago at Wolves and thats the obvious concern a quick turnaround but he gave the impression he would be well suited to a step up in trip staying on well from a long way out that day. O'neil has a good record with this horse 3 from 4 and has won 3 from his last 5 starts (time before was a dead heat). Of course a 6lb penalty makes life a lot tougher but clearly in fantastic form and mixed messages from the breeding about this extra furlong but a tough sort. 2pt win City Legend 9/2 lads (taken earlier posted on Twitter best price available now 7/2) 3.50 Lingfield Not overly keen on the favourite Artic Lynx at 11/4 in a competitive race, has gone close last twice off slightly lower marks but perhaps the worry now is the bird has flown as handicapper has reacted and is now 2lb above last winning mark and yard a little quiet, but should get a good gallop to chase with Piceno and Tislaam in the field. Podgies Boy offers a little value at 5/1, having been below par since return from a lengthy absence in 3 starts before bouncing back last time out by out staying Bianca De Medici at Southwell over this trip, did well considering how far back he was turning in especially on the fibresand so a lot to like about that effort and handicapper not been silly with just a 3lb rise in the weights which still only puts him 2lb above his highest winning mark and could still be open to more improvement yet, yard going well and Hanagan takes over only concern is draw but 8 of 8 not awful for a hold up performer around here. Shifting Star is well handicapped on his very best form but isnt getting any younger. Has gone close the last twice but handicapper slowly edging him back up and goes without usual headgear today. Tislaam is consistent but has never won off a mark this high and unlikely to get a soft lead in this field. Dozy Joe also looks a tad overpriced on what he has achieved so far to date, not totally exposed and by no means out of this, he held his form well on the AW winter not so good on the turf in a couple of runs in the summer and perhaps needed the run on reappearance around here over 6f on penultimate start but bounced back to form last time out back up in trip staying on well, that was a strong race and he did well at the weights and if backing that effort up back in handicap having gone close of this mark last year and first time visor is also tried today is overpriced. 2pt win Podgies Boy 5/1 lads 0.5pt win Dozy Joe 11/1 bet365

By a short-head in November, by a head last month, and by a short-head 19 days ago. Since 2010, his form at the track is 125222 with his two defeats in 2010 by 1 1/2 and 1 3/4 lengths. All runs at the track was for 1m. There are likely to go quick today which will help the selection. He only found Richard Fahey's Aquarian Spirit too good last time out and had Andre Balding's lto winner and 11-4 favorite Perfect Mission behind in third by a head. Adam Kirby timed his challeged well to lead the final 100 yards but just lost the race when headed at the line.
