KThom
Been fiddling with some figures and systems. Based on (what I think is a Trixie – one £3 double and 2 £3 singles) I have back tested the following figures. * Season Games Staked Returns Yield Points 06-07 798 £7,182.00 £153.42 2.14% 17 07-08 722 £6,498.00 £333.22 5.13% 37 08-09 887 £7,983.00 £1,061.77 13.30% 118 09-10 750 £6,750.00 £943.77 13.98% 105 10-11 1719 £15,471.00 £461.21 2.98% 51 11-12 729 £6,561.00 £636.49 9.70% 71 Total 5605 £50,445.00 £3,589.88 7.12% 399 * The Trixie involves the over / under 2.5 market and match outcome and the figures I have used are fairly conservative (better ones were probably available by bookie selection). * Before I start applying this into live money would like to gauge some thought – and perhaps people’s advise on trixie betting. I have back tested using flat £3 stakes on each (even though the odds between the over/under and the match result bet will vary). Is this the best method – or should I bet more / less depending on the odds? * Hopefully get some decent feedback.
Machine
Re: Trixie system Unfortunately a trixie is 3 doubles and 1 treble......... 3 selections But good luck anyway :ok
KThom
Re: Trixie system Ah ok. Issue with wording. The dynamics are still the same. 1 double and 2 singles (whatever that bets called)
KThom
Re: Trixie system The system looked far to good to be true. It seems no bookmaker will offer the double on the match result & over/under market!! Would have hit a gold mine else
froment
Re: Trixie system The system looked far to good to be true. It seems no bookmaker will offer the double on the match result & over/under market!! Would have hit a gold mine else Of course not, those are related bets, so they don't allow to combine them. However, some bookies can offer it as special bet, but at drastically lower odds; I have at the moment bulletin two weeks old from local bookie here that offers that kind of bets, and I can tell you some examples: Twente vs. Fulham Home: 2.00, Away: 3.60. Over 2.5: 1.75. Over 3.5: 3.15 Home and Over 2.5: 3.00 (instead of 3.50 (2.00*1.75)). Home and Over 3.5: 5.60 (instead of 6.30). Away and Over 2.5: 5.40 (instead of 6.30). Other combinations (Home and Under 2.5, etc.) were not in offer. Celtic vs. Atletico Madrid Home: 3.10, Away: 2.20. Over 2.5: 1.85. Over 3.5: 3.30. Home and Over 2.5: 4.80 (instead of 5.74). Home and Over 3.5: 7.60 (instead of 10.23). Away and Over 2.5: 3.40 (instead of 4.07). Cambridge vs. Bath City Home: 1.50, Away: 5.10. Over 2.5: 1.65. Over 3.5: 2.85. Home and Over 2.5: 2.05 (instead of 2.48). Home and Over 3.5: 3.55 (instead of 4.28). Away and Over 2.5: 7.45 (instead of 8.42). If you're interested in more examples, I can scan these pages and post for you. So, bookies obviously had already performed similar analysis as you, and incorporated those findings into their margins. You see that offered odds are some 20 % lower than when multiplying them, which includes those 3 to 13 % of yield you calculated, and the rest is their margin, as usual! ;)
KThom
Re: Trixie system Thanks for the info. As always - if something appears to good to be true - it usually is. I'm not sure if this bet can be done with betfair using their multiples. Someone on another forum said William hill offer this bet as a multiple but I could not find it possible
