Flat Racing 5th Dec Monday

Recommended Posts

2.00 Lingfield Plenty of pace in this race from Huzzah, Sweet Secret, Daruband and The Holyman all like to be up with the pace and although it has paid to be prominent most of the time at Lingfield recently this race could be setup for a finisher given the amount of front runners. Sweet Secret won a decent enough handicap at Kempton last time out under Spencer giving him a brilliant ride from the front, had the run of the race that day and will find things tougher this time round. Aqulifer beat Hereford Boy last time out by a short head only just holding on and finds himself 3lb higher today, that was rather out of the blue although course record speaks for itself 4 wins from 7 runs around here but Hereford Boy should be able to reverse those placings on a 1lb better terms today and will be well suited to the strong gallop that is likely. He is still 2lb below his last winning mark and like the rest of his yard he has been running well recently and looks ready to build on those promising runs. Peponi is worth a saver, although still a maiden only has a few miles on the clock and has looked the sort that could pick up a race or two up over the winter especially considering he is fresher than most. Met plenty of trouble in the finish last time out but still finished well behind Lockantanks who ran a solid race off an 8lb higher mark in a much better race which suggests that form will hold up and he runs off the same mark today. 2pt win Hereford Boy 6/1 bet365 1pt win Peponi 7/1 pp

Re: Flat Racing 5th Dec Monday Lingfield 2.00 - Peponi (7.50), Aquilifier (6.00), Hereford Boy (7.00), Comb Forecast & Tricast Looks a fairly pacey race with Cativo Cavallino sure to go off fast from stall 1 and Huzzah likely to go with. Huzzah set an overly fast pace in a previous race and the whole thing collapsed. Peponi has been coming close recently and I hope he is run in the midfield like he was last time out, as opposed to his usual prominent style. Steve Drowne has been good onboard and is on top again here. Came second to a good run from Lockantanks lto. Aquilifier won three in a row on the all weather at the start of the year. Had struggled to win since then on the turf, but comes back to the all weather now and won his first run since being gelded, which was last time out. This may have brought about improvement and often brings consistency. Only raised 3lbs for win which was lenient. Hereford Boy has been doing well on the all weather at 8f recently. Has been unlucky in running on a couple of occassions but has conditions to suit here. Goes well under Adam Kirby. Has slipped to a low mark here and has taken a drop in class for this season.
