Flat Racing 10th Nov

1.20 Southwell A very good claimer with several useful performers in the field but there is two horses in this field who have failed to spark recently but are potentially chucked into this race back on this surface. Autumn Blades is a horse that will never owe me anything having had a good season on the AW 2 years ago, has since struggled for runs as his mark ruled him out of most of the AW handicaps and clearly not as good on turf. Bailey sold him for just 4000gns after failing to beat a rival in 2 recent starts one of them on turf so excused and the 2nd was under a very inexperienced rider. He has been dropped into this grade and Ruth Carr has given him a chance with the weights putting him in here to be claimed at just £9000. Has won round here before and blinkers tried this time instead of usual cheekpieces or visor and is well drawn in stall 3 and would have to go close if yard has found his enthusiasm again. Yard having its usual quiet spell but horses still just about running to form. The other that interests me is course specialist Salerosa who boasts an impressive record around here with 6 wins from 11 runs, she won this race last year and carried a lot more weight this year finds herself carrying bottom weight of a measly 8-1 and looks very competitive with such little weight main concern is doesnt have the best record fresh but she looks to have been laid out for this race. 1pt win Salerosa 6/1 hills 2pt win Autumn Blades 6/1 bet365 2.20 Southwell On official figures the favourite Afkar should be hard to beat but not sure 11/10 represents value having shown such little in recent starts in handicaps and concerns have to be his well being now. The second favourite looks good value against the favourite who showed enough on debut to suggest he could be competitve and he duly gave his well backed stable companion a race last time out on this surface over CD pulling well clear of the remainder of the very poor field. If again building on that effort he could be competitive and atleast we know his well being. 2pt win Enchanted Dream 9/2 bet365 3.20 Southwell Forevers Girl won last time out on turf on a lower mark as she is a better horse on the AW mainly on the polytrack though although has handled the fibresand in the past most notably over CD in January when 2nd off a 5lb lower mark and with that in mind she will need a career best if she is to prevail here off a mark of 80. She is also drawn in stall 2 not considered the best over the flying 5. Lucky Art has enjoyed a good season mainly for Ruth Carr but bounced back from a quiet spell last time out on debut for this yard when getting a very soft lead in a claimer, probably just about ran upto his mark but will probably find others going for the lead aswell which is off putting needing a career best back in a handicap. Dickie Le Davoir has shown a small amount of promise on recent starts finishing a little better than he had been but his slow starting habit is off putting on this surface and still remains 16lb higher than when winning around here in March. Mottley Crewe looks a tad overpriced considering he won last time out effectively 8lb higher back on the AW but is a better horse on the AW and is 1 from 1 over this surface and could be unexposed on this surface, only 5lb higher for that win in March when winning in confident style that was over 6f but drop back in trip no problem and clearly stamina no issue and could help on this surface, apprentice takes off 7lb and he is fairly straightforward. The other that could bounce back from a disappointing effort is Colourbearer win in emphatic style on polytrack on penultimate start, up 7lb for that effort and worth forgiving latest run never looked to be travelling after a tardy start was not pushed hard after chance was gone and could easily bounce back here, he is still improving and has won over CD and is another who is 1 from 1 over this CD and could be open to more on this surface! 1pt win Colourbearer 8/1 pp 1pt win Mottley Crewe 9/1 lads

Re: Flat Racing 10th Nov Waahej - Kempton 6:20 Has a big chance again tomorrow after scooting up by 7 lengths last time out, should be well able to follow up if in the same mood. Is up 6 pounds but with the way it won last time out should be no problem. Laura Pike is 2 wins from 5 rides on the horse and i think the price is fair. WIN @ 9/2 Ladbrokes BOG
