Flat Racing Tuesday 25th of October

Recommended Posts

I am sticking with Chris Catlin at Yarmouth tomorrow who has 4 rides, two of which are on debutant horses from the Chris Wall stable. All are unfancied on paper but when you look at when they team up together at Yarmouth, Catlin has rode 4 times for Wall at the track resulting in 2 wins and 1 second, the wins at prices of 9/1 and 25/1 and the second place at 18/1, thats a 50% win strike rate and a 75% place strike rate, and with big prices guaranteed tomorrow i think its definately worth a dabble. Hard Road - Yarmouth 2:30 As mentioned above my reasoning for backing this!! Wall doesnt have many debutant winners but this horse is related to several winners and it is a Cape Cross colt and is related to winners that range from 7f to 1m 4f, so that is in the range of tomorrow's 1m race. Looks a decent maiden and a big field but there are lots and lots of newcomers in this race and we should get a tasty price on my selection tomorrow. Ze King - Yarmouth 3:00 Again the Catlin/Wall partnership team up here with another debutant. This is related to several winners , some of which are Big Robert and Anne Of Kiev, Anne Of Kiev is still going gallantly on the flat. Again backing this for the strike rate of the jockey/trainer at the track. Lady Ellice - Yarmouth 3:30 Has no chance on current form but runs off its lowest mark to date tomorrow (46) and it did run a couple of ok races when 4th of 12 to Kassaab at Kempton back in February off a mark a few pounds higher, and traded very low in running too (1.80) before only finishing 1 length behind the winner. Also had a good run at Wolverhampton in March when 4th to Alfraamsey , finishing about 2 lengths behind the winner. Also having its first run on turf tomorrow so it may well be the case it might suit it better. I will have a go at 33/1. Participation - Yarmouth 5:00 Has not run on the flat since 2006, thats some break eh!! But it did win its last flat race it did run and was once running off a mark of 86 and runs off 55 on its return, that is 21 pounds lower. Won a Class 4 maiden in 2005 so if retaining any of that ability, it should be capable of making its presence felt in Class 6 company, that is of course granted it is fit after such a long break. Laura Youngs first ever runner at Yarmouth. Backed Lady Ellice E/W @ 33/1 Bet365 BOG Backed Participation E/W @ 16/1 Bet365 BOG Will back the other two tomorrow!
