Sedgefield 2.20 Jawaab 1pt EW - 6/1 WH Lot better than most of theese on the flat and saddle slipped 3 days ago. Was 3rd on sole hurdling start before and this more galloping track will suit. Not sure if the favorite will like this sharp test. I see him more as a stayer. Brian Ellison's runner could be decent, but my selection probably has the beating of him on flat ability and I see no reason why Jawaab should be a bigger price. 4.20 Acrai Rua 0.75pt EW - 16/1 Lads 3rd behind Massini Man and Lord Ragnar and then 2nd behind Balthazar King in novice events last season. Won at Hereford over 3 miles. Handicapper has given him a chance after abysmal showing lto, but the cheekpieces are reapplied today and he could improve for new trainer after leaving Ewan Williams. Shorter trip could also help, as long as Brian Toomey makes more use of him.

Reasoning One to beat despite falling last time out. That run was at Listowel on Soft to Heavy. THe good ground suits better today. Previous form prior to the fall had 4 wins (hurdles) and 1 placed from 6. Penultimate run was his chase debut and he was good enough for 2nd of 5 by 2 1/4 lengths to Chesapeake who came from the O'Neill/McCoy/McManus trio. McCoy is booked to ride the selection today. He rode the selection once and they won a year ago, at this course over hurdles. McCoy only had 2 wins from the last 7 rides for trainer Gordon Elliot but all rides was at Perth. McCoy does better at this track and will have a better record from three rides today. They teamed up at Hereford and Newton Abbott earlier in the month and finished with 2 wins from 4, McCoy has more experience at those tracks that Perth. He has three rides for Elliot today and they are his only rides of the day.
