Reasoning The going had been the difference this year for the selection. Anything on the Soft side have not been good at the end. 9th of 12 on Good to Soft at Newcastle in June. 9th of 13 on Yielding/Soft at Curragh in July. Last time out was for 9th of 19 at Ripon on Good to Soft where he weakened inside the final furlong. It was his best yet on the type of going as he was with the leader Parisian Pyramid unti late in the race. He's made good progress on Good or faster going this year. 4th of 17 in April. 4th of 13 and 16th of 19 in May. 2nd of 16, 3rd of 11, and 2nd of 25 in July. The latest was at Goodwood for the Stewards' Sprint Stakes. Jockey Silvestre De Sousa was on board that run for the first time and he is again booked today.

Re: FLAT Racing - Sept 10th 2.35 Doncaster - 1.5pts e/w Waffle @ 9/1 (Ladbrokes) - BOG Waffle finds it hard to win but the visor is applied today and if having the desired effect, could get this one home for his 2nd win from 18 starts. His only win came three years ago on debut but has run many good races in defeat since, and conditions look right for him today. His best form comes on flat tracks. His record at Doncaster is very consistent having been beaten 3/4l, 1 3/4l and 3/4l in big competitive sprints. His only bad run this year came last time at Ripon but it was a messy race where the field were split. Also, the undulating track didn't suit and he'll be much more at home today. Prior to that he put in a good effort in a Group 3 at Newcastle. Genki won it and has since run very well in Group 1 company so this was a run in a better race than today. His excellent 2nd to Deacon Blues at Ascot before that is another run good enough to win this. The James Fanshawe trained horse has won twice since including a 7l romp in a Group 3 in Ireland. Waffle was clear with that horse at Ascot. This is bound to be run at a good pace with horses such as Lexi's Hero and Zero Money in the field, and it's hard to see Waffle - under Richard Hughes - not running his race.
